In an effort to
introduce more students to the world of science, The Putnam Children's
Discovery Center is hosting
several
FAMILY SCIENCE
NIGHTS. Please check back frequently to see where and when the
next FAMILY SCIENCE NIGHT will be held. This is a must do
for preschool and elementary aged students!! Many hands on activities are
available geared for ages 3-10. Stop by anytime during this hour and a
half program, stay as long as you like... and it's free admission!!
Each night will feature many hands-on experiments designed to demonstrate
scientific principles in a simple, fun, entertaining way and approachable
experts to answer a child's most curious question. The
Discovery Center hopes that one of it's hands-on experiments or hand out
information will encourage a child to create a science project for their
“own” school science fair. First place winners from local
school Fairs become eligible to participate in the TRI COUNTY SCIENCE &
TECHNOLOGY FAIR also produced by the Putnam Children’s Discovery Center.
This regional fair is for Westchester, Putnam and Rockland County students
grades K-12. This year’s Fair will be held at JFK High School 54
Route 138 Somers, NY in April. (See Tri County Science & Technology Fair for exact date
and details)
