Janice Miller Newman Education Award for Excellence in Developing Future Scientists

Janice Miller Newman has been a strong supporter of young people. Dedicating her entire life to educational programs for youth. From acting programs that promote memorization and expression to science that promotes questioning and exploration. She even plans annual trips abroad to learn about other cultures. PCDC has been to Israel, Greece, Antarctica, Iceland, Italy, Turkey and Colombia to name a few. She is best known for saying “There is no such thing as settled science. Science is always changing and evolving.  We forget how many things we thought would cure something only to discover later it was not the cure all. Leaches for example! If you believe the world is flat set out on a journey to prove it! We learn by researching our beliefs not by blindly accepting all that we hear.”
